Novamont, owned by Versalis (Eni), is a Benefit Company certified B Corporation, among the international players in the biodegradable and compostable bioplastics sector and development of bioproducts and biochemicals, wholly or partly from vegetable origins.

Novamont is a partner in the SYMBA project, an initiative aimed at creating innovative solutions to drive circular economies through Industrial Symbiosis (IS).

Novamont’s bioeconomy model aims to connect different sectors through collaboration with all actors in the value chain: from agriculture to research, from industry to the waste sector, from local institutions to civil society. The goal is to create demonstrators that focus on the specific characteristics of local areas.

At the heart of the SYMBA project lies a cutting-edge database designed to support Industrial Symbiosis in regional bio-based ecosystems. This tool enables stakeholders to identify innovative solutions, foster collaborations, and accelerate the shift towards circular value chains.

As a partner in the SYMBA project, Novamont plays a central and multifaceted role in driving its success. The company actively contributes to shaping and implementing the Industrial Symbiosis (IS) approach, ensuring its practical applicability.

By serving as a real-world case study, Novamont provides valuable insights that could help SYMBA methodologies, making them more effective and adaptable to various contexts.Β  Additionally, Novamont acts as a bridge, fostering link and connections between different actors in the value chain: from agriculture to research, from industry to waste management, from local institutions to civil society. This networking effort promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the creation of synergies among stakeholders.
