On 24-25 November 2025, SYMBA participated in the Pitch Perfect and Boost the European Bioeconomy event, held in Brussels, one of the most prominent European gatherings dedicated to innovation, investment, and cross-sectoral collaboration in the bioeconomy.

The two-day event brought together industry leaders, innovators, investors, policymakers, and research organizations with the objective of connecting cutting-edge biobased technologies to capital, fostering new partnerships, and accelerating the development of innovative, cross-border and cross-sectoral industrial value chains within the European bioeconomy.

The 2025 edition of Pitch Perfect confirmed its strong impact and relevance at EU level, with 533 registered participants, 70+ investors in attendance, 125 company pitches, and 28 EU-scale pilot and scale-up facilities presenting their capabilities. The programme also featured high-level panel discussions, networking sessions, and an Open Day at the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, further reinforcing the event’s role as a catalyst for innovation and market uptake.

Within this context, SYMBA played a leading role, with Tanja Mejer from BBEPPΒ representing the project and moderating Pitch Session 12, entitled β€œEmerging Innovative Technologies: Alternative & Unconventional Feedstocks” (programme here). The session focused on novel feedstock solutions as key enablers for sustainable and circular bio-based value chains, fully aligned with SYMBA’s mission to promote industrial symbiosis and resource efficiency across European industries.

Participation in Pitch Perfect 2025 provided SYMBA with a valuable opportunity to engage with a broad ecosystem of innovators, investors, and policy stakeholders, contributing to discussions on the future of the European bioeconomy and strengthening the project’s visibility within high-level innovation and investment environments.

Events such as Pitch Perfect play a crucial role in building robust investor, innovator pipelines and supporting the objectives of the new EU Bioeconomy Strategy by fostering scale-up, market incentives, and dedicated support for biomanufacturing. SYMBA’s active involvement further underlines its commitment to advancing sustainable, competitive, and circular bio-based systems in Europe.
