Yesterday, 11 November 2025, the SYMBA team held the second session of the SYMBA External Advisory Board, bringing together our distinguished experts for another highly valuable exchange of ideas and perspectives.

The meeting offered a valuable opportunity to share the project’s latest results and gather constructive feedback on several key topics, including:

  • Evaluation of industrial symbiosis (IS) solutions and their potential for replication;
  • SYMBA methodology, developed through an extensive literature review and needs assessment;
  • Policy brief outcomes and the selection of demo regions where SYMBA’s approach will be further tested and validated.

Each session was followed by a Q&A and open discussion, enabling a rich exchange of perspectives that will help refine our next steps and strengthen the project’s scientific and practical relevance across Europe.

During the session, we also took the opportunity to invite our experts to the upcoming Co-Creation Workshop, β€œCommunity building and methodology guidelines for Industrial Symbiosis,” which will take place on 20 November 2025. Their participation and vision will be key to shaping a collaborative dialogue and ensuring our tools and approaches reflect real needs from industry and research alike.

A big thank you to our External Advisory Board members for their continuous support, commitment, and inspiration: Milena Amaral, Jarmila ZimmermannovΓ‘, Dr. Marijana Mionic Ebersold, Sara Bergamin, and Sorina Uleia.
