During his visit to the exhibition, the Italian Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, underlined Italy’s leading role in recycling and sustainable innovation:

β€œWe can consider ourselves among the first countries in the world in terms of recycling capacity. Much is said about rare earths and critical raw materials, but the greatest deposit we have is our waste. This fair fully represents the spirit of innovation and sustainability”

Within this international framework, the SYMBA project was represented during the Symbiosis Users Network Conference, held on 5 November. Antonietta Pizza, Head of the EU Projects Unit at ENCO and Coordinator of SYMBA, delivered a presentation entitled β€œSYMBA: Advancing Industrial Symbiosis for a Sustainable, Circular and Bio-based Europe”. The presentation highlighted SYMBA’s contribution to promoting industrial symbiosis as a strategic tool for sustainable industrial development, enhancing cross-sectoral cooperation, and supporting the transition towards a circular and resource-efficient European economy.

SYMBA’s brochures were distributed at the stand of our partner AIMPLAS, reaching a wide audience of industry professionals and stakeholders and the project was also featured in the edition of Projects Magazine by Insight Media, further disseminating its results and vision to the broader innovation community.

Through its multi-faceted participation, SYMBA strengthened its contribution to Europe’s circular transition, promoting industrial symbiosis as a key driver of sustainability, innovation, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
