The SYMBA project participated in the 20th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES), held from 5 to 10 October 2025 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The jubilee edition of this prestigious event brought together 785 scientists, researchers, and experts from 68 countries across six continents, with 670 attending onsite and 115 online. Over the course of the conference, 587 oral presentations and 95 poster presentations were delivered, complemented by 65 regular and 22 special sessions, as well as four keynote plenaries and three expert panels.

In line with the event’s focus on sustainable development, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration, the Project Exchange Event was held onsite, featuring 40 project presentations, generating substantial interest among participants.

SYMBA participated in the poster session, presenting β€œEvaluating and advancing Industrial Symbiosis solutions through stakeholder-driven Multicriteria Analysis: insights from the SYMBA Project”. The presentation, delivered by LucΓa GonzΓ‘lez Monjardin (CETAQUA), highlighted the key results of WP3, with a particular focus on Deliverable D3.3. The poster attracted discussions on industrial symbiosis solutions, stakeholder engagement, and the application of multicriteria analysis to advance circular practices across industries.

The participation of SYMBA at SDEWES 2025 offered an invaluable opportunity to share project insights, exchange knowledge with international experts, and reinforce the importance of stakeholder-driven approaches in developing sustainable, circular industrial systems.
