On 2 October 2025, leveraging the synergies with its sister project SYMBIO, the SYMBA project was presented at the Final TWG C-BIO Workshop organised by Circular Cities and Regions Initiative.
The event focused on exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI)Β and other innovative digital tools that can support cities and regions in implementing circular bioeconomy solutions.
SYMBA was featured as a case study, highlighting its contribution to the development of practical approaches and digital frameworks that foster industrial symbiosis and enable resource-efficient, circular value chains. Indeed, an AI-powered database will serve as a central tool for identifying and implementing innovative processes, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and accelerating the transition towards circularity. This AI database will suggest regional IS innovative processes to create zero-waste value chains, ensuring more local supply chains, a better distribution of economic and social benefits among the stakeholders and an increase in the economic value of final products.
Participation in this workshop represents another step forward in SYMBAβs commitment to promoting collaboration and innovation across European regions to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable and circular bioeconomy.
