On 1 July 2025, the SYMBA consortium gathered in Amsterdam for its General Assembly, graciously hosted by Climate KIC. The meeting represented a pivotal moment for the project, which has now reached its halfway point, 18 months into its 36-month duration.
Despite the unusually high temperatures in the Dutch capital, the discussions were marked by clarity, focus, and a shared commitment to the objectives of SYMBA. Partners presented and analysed the work completed so far, identified critical next steps, and reinforced their collective determination to advance the development of industrial symbiosis models across Europe.

In keeping with the spirit of European collaboration, the gathering was not limited to formal sessions. On the evening prior to the meeting, partners were invited to a social dinner hosted at “A Beautiful Mess“, a restaurant run by refugees that serves authentic ethnic cuisine. This meaningful choice of venue embodied values of inclusion, dignity, and cultural exchange,Β principles that resonate strongly with the SYMBA projectβs mission to foster sustainable and socially responsible innovation.

The Amsterdam General Assembly was a reaffirmation of our shared vision and energy to move forward with purpose and impact. We are ready to continue our journey.
