On 28 May 2025, the first SYMBA Bootcamp successfully took place, offering a highly insightful and engaging session that brought together a committed group of participants. The bootcamp marked a key milestone in the project’s effort to strengthen policy frameworks that support industrial symbiosis across Europe.

The session was expertly facilitated by our colleagues from Climate KIC, whose guidance and interactive approach created an environment conducive to knowledge-sharing and open discussion.Β The focus of the bootcamp was on enhancing local, regional, and national policies to foster the implementation and scaling of industrial symbiosis practices. Through a combination of targeted presentations and interactive exchanges, participants explored both the challenges and opportunities facing policymakers and practitioners in this field.

A key highlight of the session was the emphasis on co-creation: participants were invited to contribute actively to the development of a shared methodology for assessing the impacts of industrial symbiosis initiatives. This work will feed directly into the creation of policy briefs, intended to support informed decision-making by policymakers and public authorities.
