Last week, Tanja Meyer from Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEPP) presented the SYMBA project to a delegation from VOKA, the Flemish network of businesses, during their visit to the BBEPP facility. This visit took place within the framework of Lerend Netwerk rond Klimaatneutrale Industrie (“Learning Network on Climate Neutral Industry”), a dedicated program aimed at strengthening corporate ambitions toward climate neutrality.
The visiting group, consisting of sustainability professionals from large industrial companies, is engaged in a six-session journey exploring key strategies for reducing environmental impact. Their tour of BBEPP provided valuable insights into industrial biotechnologyβs role in driving the transition to a more sustainable economy.
During the visit, Tanja Meyer introduced the SYMBA project, highlighting its role in advancing industrial symbiosis by fostering resource efficiency and circular economy solutions across multiple sectors. The projectβs innovative approach to transforming waste streams into valuable resources aligns closely with the goals of climate-neutral industry initiatives.
